From a “Student” to a Lifelong “Consumer” of Education? Constructions of Educability in Adult Students’ Narrative Life Histories

The focus of this study was to examine the constructions of the educable subject of the lifelong learning (LLL) narrative in the narrative life histories of adult students at general upper secondary school for adults (GUSSA). In this study lifelong learning has been defined as a cultural narrative on education, “a system of political thinking” that is not internally consistent, but has contradictory themes embedded within it (Billig et al., 1988). Tutkielmassa tarkastellaan syksyllä 2016 voimaan tulleen lukion opetussuunnitelman perusteiden(LOPS 2015) eroja verrattuna edelliseen lukion opetussuunnitelman perusteisiin (LOPS 2003). Erojen mahdollisia vaikutuksia englanti vieraana kielenä -opetukseen (EFL) pohditaan. Aihetta lähestytään kyselymuotoisen tapaustutkimuksen avulla, jossa on haastateltu kokenutta lukion englannin opettajaa. Kyselyllä on selvitetty, miten uusi opetussuunnitelma vaikuttaa englannin opetukseen. In Finland, the trend towards a new kind of history teaching emphasizing the understanding of historical knowledge and historical thinking skills began in the mid-1990s, when history teaching objectives were defined much more broadly in the curriculum than previously. In this article, we examine how, in over twenty years since the changes in curriculum objectives were made, general upper secondary school teachers have come to value the curriculum objectives of history teaching and how these have impacted on their teaching. Yhteistyön mahdollisuudet – lukiokoulutukseen valmistava koulutus kielellistyvässä maailmassa

Tassa tutkimuksessa selvitetaan sita, millaisia kasityksia rehtoreilla, opettajilla ja opiskelijoilla on vuorovaikutuksen mahdollistavasta toiminnasta eli yhteistyosta Lukiokoulutukseen valmistavan koulutuksen (LUVA) ja muun lukiotoiminnan valilla. Edellisen lisaksi tarkastellaan sita, ilmeneeko LUVA-koulutuksessa aineiston perusteella kielenoppimista tukevaa eri kielten limittaista kayttoa (engl. translanguaging ).
